Join Alberto Villoldo, PhD, medical anthropologist and best-selling author, on a journey to the sacred ceremonial sites of Peru, including Machu Picchu. During this expedition, we will visit ancient temples and take part in ceremonies with the last of the wisdom keepers of the Inka. We will stay in first-class lodges in the Sacred Valley near the city of Cusco, the old Inka capital, and visit seldom-seen ruins, including the Temple of the Moon at Quillarumiyoc and the Temple of the Jaguar at Puma Marka. During our journey, we will meet with the high shamans of the Andes and take part in their rites of passage.
Partake in this journey of illumination, where we will experience the healing and spiritual practices of the shamans of the Peru. Alberto Villoldo, PhD, is a medical anthropologist and psychologist who has studied and practiced the shamanic traditions of the Andes and Amazon for more than 30 years, researching and translating ancient healing modalities to make them practical, scientific, and contemporary for the Western world. Initiated by the last of the Incan shaman masters, in 1984 he founded The Four Winds Society, dedicated to bridging ancient shamanic healing practices with modern medicine and psychology. A former faculty member at San Francisco State University, he is the author of Shaman, Healer, Sage and Mending the Past and Healing the Future with Soul Retrieval.
